Daniel Leonard Larson, born on September 30, 1946, in Iron Mountain, MI, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2024, in Centennial, CO. He was a devoted family man, cherished husband, and loving father and Papa. Dan graduated from the University of Denver and dedicated his career to being a western history bookseller, sharing his passion for the past with others. He had a profound love for history and trivia, often delighting in engaging conversations about his favorite subjects. An avid reader one of Dan’s favorite quotes was “So many books so little time”. When not reading he enjoyed cooking, watching black and white movies, old westerns, and never missed an episode of Jeopardy! When it came to sports, he was a dedicated fan of the Denver Broncos and the Colorado Avalanche. Above all, Dan cherished the moments spent with his beloved wife, Eileen, whom he married on August 28, 1976, and their children, Katherine (Shane) and Jeff (Kelly). He adored his grandchildren—Rosalyn, Gabriel, Rylee, Reece, and Weston—finding immense joy in their company. Dan loved spending summers in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, especially at the cottage on Lake Mary. His warmth, wisdom, and sense of humor will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and a rich appreciation for history that will continue to inspire his family and friends.
