Carol Keasling Mace passed away in her home in Centennial, Colorado on February 13th 2020, at the age of 81, after complications from a battle with pancreatic cancer. Carol was born on May 25th 1939 in Illinois to Margaret Frank and Clarence A. Keasling. Carol studied at both The University of Delaware and Northwestern University and then went on to become a teacher after obtaining a Master’s degree in education. Carol married her husband, Robert Kircher Mace on December 21st, 1961. In her free time, Carol enjoyed reading, shopping, watching television, and being involved with various health clubs. She was known by her loved ones as being incredibly brilliant. She had a realist vision of the world; carefully and methodically thinking things through, while still looking at every aspect of life in a very different and unique way. If anyone were to sum up her life in three words, it would simply be: Live. Laugh. Love. Carol is survived by her children Robert Karl Mace and Valerie Kathleen Hearn, her grandchildren Cassandra and Yazmine Hearn, her younger brother Jonathan Keasling, and her friends Kim Davis and Lorrie Bery. Carol is preceded in death by both of her parents Margaret and Clarence and after nearly 49 years of marriage, by her husband Robert, on October 31st 2010. At this time, public memorial services are to be determined for a later date through Olinger Chapel Hill Mortuary.
