Brittany Kathleen Thurman

Our beautiful daughter Brittany left this world, way too soon, on June 27, 2023. Brittany was a bright shooting star. Brave, strong, passionate, determined. Brittany accomplished amazing things in her time with us.

Brittany Kathleen Thurman was born May 7, 1988. She loved adventures. She climbed Mount Sniffles, rafted the rapids of the Yampa, galloped bareback in the mountains like Lucky Prescott. She sang in her school choir, played bass clarinet in the school band.

Brittany loved soccer. She was a proud alum of Real Colorado Soccer, where she played for 7 years. Her favorite soccer memories were getting to train with her favorite players – Mia Hamm, Julie Foudy and Kristine Lilly – and watching them live at the Rose Bowl when they won the Women’s World Cup.

Brittany enjoyed spending time with her mom Clarissa and dad Harold, sharing funny stories, tackling projects together, big and small, FaceTiming to catch up, or just to say hi.

Brittany was super proud of her children – Bianca, EB (Elizabeth) and Kota (Nakotanni). She continued to be very supportive of Bianca, after Bianca transitioned to living with her adoptive parents, Harold and Teresa.

Brittany’s journey will reunite her with her daughter Nikcole, and with her sister Natasha.

In addition to her children, Brittany is survived in this world by her mother, Clarissa and husband Richard, father, Harold and wife Teresa, brothers, Jess (Denise) and Sean (Stephanie), maternal grandfather Gustav, paternal grandparents, Martha and Allen. Also by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who loved her dearly.

She will be deeply missed.
