Betty passed peacefully at the age of 86 on June 13th 2022, in Centennial Colorado, where she lived in assisted living with many trusted church friends.
Betty, born on July 11, 1935, in Walnut Shade, Missouri, was the 2nd to the youngest child of 10, of Norman “Red” Blansit and Pansy “Pink” Blansit. She was born in a small farm house where they lived and harvested soghum.
She graduated from Highschool in 1952 with a small graduation class from a schoolhouse in Walnut Shade. Betty and her sisters spent summers working at a resort, Rocky Away Beach, on lake Taney Como, MO many happy memories were made here, and family reunions have been held here every year.
Betty went to Business school in Kansas City, were she met the Love of her life, John Herman Schouten, they were married in 1957. They relocated several times, because of John’s job, and lived in Texas, Pueblo Co, and finally settled in Centennial Co. where they lived happily for many years with their 3 children, Greg, Jeff and Kelley.
Betty worked office jobs through the years; Richlawn, Safeway and retired early.
Betty loved cooking, baking, canning, gardening, crocheting, bible study, reading, and the hallmark channel. She enjoyed spending time with her friends, and family, having lunch, volunteering, and shopping.
The family joined Mission Hills Church in 1968, she loved the church and her church family.
Loved ones welcoming her in heaven: John Schouten, parents, Norman and Pansy Blansit, brothers, Earldean, Bob, and Clemith Clay Blansit; as well as sisters; Imogene McCorkle, Earnestine Murry, Bessie Biggs, Arlene Johnson, and Phylis Mischke.
Betty will be missed by still surviving, sister Joan Wolmack, Sons Greg and Jeff Schouten, daughter Kelley Mansanares, and grandchildren Breesa Mansanares, Chiara and Theo Schouten.
