I would like to express condolences at the passing of Bob. Marge and I missed the funeral service because we were away and only found out about it yesterday in a back issue of the Catonsville Times. Bob and I worked in the same department and often with each other literally for decades. I can remember when we both came to the Air Arm Division in 1952. Bob was noted for his excellent designs and analyses, both done at a fast pace with accuracy and insight. But his fast pace did not prevent him from injecting a good bit of humor and philosophy into the process. He was just an all around good engineer and good person to work with. After we had both retired and after Mildred had unfortunately passed away, I saw him on occasion at the lunches at Snyder's. He was the same Bob; affable and with humorous stories to tell. I grieve now to think that he is no longer with us.

I too loved Uncle Bob. He was so funny. He had the corniest jokes,but we still laughed. My favorite memory is going to Sunset Beach. Uncle Bob was used to the beaches up North were they got very crowded early in the day. He would get up early each morning to stake out his spot on the beach. He was amazed that you could go out at 10:00 am and have the whole beach to yourself. We always had a great time with all our aunts,uncles and cousins.

Uncle Bob was loved very much.  My thoughts and prayers are with Bruce & Darla and Jean & Rick and the rest of the family.  Sorry I could not be there.  Just imagine Uncle Bob, Aunt Mildred, Nell, and Lewis together up there telling stories!!  Love all of you! ..... Virginia

My fondest memory of my grandfather is one that goes way back.  The story goes as follows: 

I was around three years old and at Surf Side Beach with my parents and brother and pop-pop and grandma Mildred.  I was told that I was not old enough to swim in the pool because i couldnt swim and refused to wear those ridiculous water wings.  Of course I didn't think much of people telling me what to do, so I dove into the hot tub because I thought if I swam to the bottom of it, it would somehow lead to the pool.  No one really saw me jump in and I just floated to the bottom for awhile.  Pop- pop finally noticed me in there and jumped in fully clothed and saved me.  Later on he had to change his clothes in the parking lot of the hotel and some older ladies walked by and saw him changing.  Thanks for that Pop. I owe ya  

- Also I was a little wild when I was a kid.  Pop- Pop was somehow the only one who could control me and he always told everyone I would end up alright.  

There are so many other stories I could share such as Moe, Toe, SO- SO stories, Compost Pile, Dinners at Pops house, Chinese Checkers, Kings on the Corner, His story on how he lost his hair, and his childhood stories.  

I think my brother put it best when he said you couldnt ask for a better grandfather.

Mr Sando always let Sarah and I come to play at his house when we were kids. Even when we were a little too rambunctious...i remember every time we went over there, we'd always go for slurpees. He was such an amazing person, and had a huge heart. I'll miss you. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family. I love you guys.

I learned quite a lot from my grandfather that I will keep with me for the rest of my life.  He was always quick with a joke and smile (and usually a story) for his grandchildren.  You couldn't ask for a better grandfather or "pop pop."

one of my fondest memories with my father-in-law was back in 1980 and jean and i were first married living in york,pa and mr sando and myself went to play a
9 hole golf course. after i lost 4-5 balls in the water and woods his patience with me got a little strained and by the end of the day i must've lost 8 balls due to my terrible slice, hence, no more golfing with my father-in-law.

My fondest memory of Mr. Sando is hearing him call his daughter "Jeanie" . He was a kind  and gentle man.  I loved to hear him laugh.  His presence will be sorely missed by those of us who remain behind. Go in peace, Mr. Sando.

Everytime I play the piano, I think about Grandpa. We always played Ode to Joy duets, and he also tried to teach me how to play the harmonica (I never quite got it).
