On Monday, October 10, 2017 Margaret Metcalfe Gorman of Catonsville, MD. Beloved wife of the late William B. Gorman, mother of David R. Gorman (Jennifer) and Patricia Sheridan, sister of the late Florence Metcalfe Clinard, her twin, and Suellen Jones, grandmother of Lisa Welsh (Henry), Scott Sheridan (Kelly), Kevin Gorman (Kim), and Michael Gorman (Amy), and great-grandmother of Patrick, Michael, and Joseph Welsh. Mrs. Gorman was born in Washington, DC in 1921 and grew up on the family farm in Union Bridge, MD. The greatest joy of her life was time spent with her family, who loved her dearly. Her warm, kind, and gentle spirit endeared her to all she met, and she treasured the wonderful friendships she enjoyed over the years.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 15, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Sterling-Ashton-Schwab-Witzke Funeral Home, 1630 Edmondson Ave., Catonsville, MD 21228. A Memorial Mass will be offered on Monday, October 16, at 10 a.m. in the Chapel at St. Mark’s Catholic Church, 30 Melvin Avenue, Catonsville, MD 21228. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation, 1359 Broadway, Suite 1509, New York, NY 10018.
