Please accept my sincere sympathy in your and your family's loss. 

It has been many years since you and I have seen each other, early on in your marriage to Ed. You likely have forgotten my name. In the attached photo I am on the right, and Leon Walters, another retired OIO employee is to the left.

I knew Ed from his entry into DIO about 1973. What a fun, friendly and nice guy. I remember he was quite a fine softball player. 

I worked with Ed, never under him, so I am happy to learn from these messages that he was also wonderful to work for. I could have used a boss like him!

To his wife and children, please accept my condolences in your loss and thanks for sharing Ed with us for all those years at SSA. I had the honor of working with Ed in ODO and the last time I saw him was at his retirement party.  Ed was a kind, benevolent, caring person.  We often conversed about hot steamed crabs and which local spots were the best. Of course, Ship's Cafe came up often in said conversations. I am thankful that God allowed our paths to cross and for me being afforded the opportunity to work both for and with such a genuinely nice man...a man who frequently doted on his wife and children.  Rest in peace, Ed and thanks for the great memories.  May God comfort all of his family and loved ones during this time of bereavement.  I will be praying for your continued strength in the days, weeks, and months to come.

Ed was a part of my DIO/ODIO life from 2/77 until I left Baltimore in 8/96.  He was a good guy and fair as could be. I remember "Ed and Fred" and the pinochle games and Friday night volleyball and mostly him looking like the younger photos. So sorry he's gone.

When the word spread through OIO of his passing, the one common statement heard from those of us that knew him was, "He was the best boss that I had ever had."  That is quite a compliment and says so much about Ed.  Please take care.  He will be missed by us all.
