On April 5, 2014, EARL ROBINSON died at the age of 90. He was the beloved husband of Maxine Robinson for 65 years, the devoted father of Lynn and Michael Robinson, the cherished grandfather of Mohan Singh and the loving great-grandfather of Malik and Mira Singh. Earl was born on July 11, 1923 in Baltimore. He graduated from City College and then embarked on a 44-year career of public service as a federal employee. In 1941, he enlisted in the Merchant Marine where he served as a telegrapher in World War II. After the war, he was a field representative for the Railroad Retirement Board. In the mid-fifties he began working at the Social Security Administration, where as a congressional liaison, he helped usher in the Medicare Act in 1965.
Relatives and friends are invited to call at the STERLING-ASHTON-SCHWAB-WITZKE FUNERAL HOME OF CATONSVILLE, INC., 1630 Edmondson Avenue, Catonsville, MD, on Thursday, April 10 from 3 to 5 PM and 7 to 9 PM, where Funeral Services will be held on Friday, April 11at 10 AM. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, 2130 Woodlawn Drive, Baltimore, MD. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made to either the Adult Hydrocephalus Center of the Sandra and Malcolm Berman Brain and Spine Institute, 5051 Greenspring Avenue, Baltimore MD 21209, or the West Baltimore United Methodist Church, 5130 Greenwich Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21229.
