Ronald Thomas Husson

Ron was a professional upholsterer and began learning the trade as a teenager from his dad, Frank at his business, “Frank’s Top Shop.” in Santa Monica, California. He went on to work at other upholstery shops and eventually opened his own upholstery business. He poured his heart and soul into his upholstery work, which was more a passion than a job to him. He really enjoyed putting a smile on every client’s face with his meticulous and gorgeous upholstery work. Ron loved his wonderful customers, many of whom became dear friends. He loved company and enjoyed being around people. His shop would have constant visits from family and friends and was always filled with love & laughter. After a beautiful career of doing 60+ years of upholstery, he retired in 2022, due to health reasons.

Ron was also very committed to his work with local NA recovery groups. As a recovering addict, he was proud of his 16 years of sobriety and shared his journey of personal experiences and struggles to help others conquer addiction. He attended meetings regularly and made many lifelong friends, who became family to him. His love, laughter, passion, and courage touched so many people and saved more lives than we will ever know.

Ron loved boating, music, chocolate covered cherries, barbeques, and all animals, especially his own fur babies. He was a loving son, brother, father, grandfather, and a steadfast and loyal friend.

He is survived by his son Randy Husson, daughter Danielle Dickerson (John), grandsons John and Derek Dickerson, sisters, Pat Ruecker (Lee) and Denise Hardy (Craig), brother Frank Husson (Betty), along with many nieces & nephews and extended family. He was predeceased by his parents Frank & Veronica Husson and Brother Wayne Husson (Betty).

Our family lost Ron, but that loss is shared with the NA community he served faithfully and passionately and became dear family to him. For everyone whose life he touched, we thank you for also touching his. The family asks that those in the journey of addiction, please continue his legacy of sobriety and find strength in his memories and words of wisdom.

The family would also like to thank Brookside Inn Doctors, Nurses, CNAs, and staff for taking such wonderful care of Ron.

Although his life ended before we were ready, the time that he spent in our lives was memorable and full of joy. He will forever cover us in his blanket of love and follow us through our days. He will be missed immensely.

A formal ceremony is not planned at the moment and Ron’s wishes were to be cremated.
