Robert “Bob” Dean Breech passed peacefully into the arms of his loving Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on June 26, 2023. He leaves behind a legacy of faithfulness and love to his Lord, family, and friends.
Bob was born on November 8, 1938, in Phillipsburg, Missouri, to Vollie and Mattie Breech. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from 1961-1963.
After his honorable discharge in 1963, he moved to West Los Angeles, California, where he met his wife, Evelyn, at West L.A. Baptist Church. They were married on June 6, 1964, and settled in Santa Clarita, California, where they raised their two daughters, Laurie and Linda.
Bob worked for GTE (Verizon) for 40 years (to the day!) as a computer systems analyst, receiving his AA degree from College of the Canyons.
Bob and Evelyn were members of Grace Baptist Church for over 30 years, where they enjoyed singing in the choir. In 1994, Evelyn and Bob moved to Flower Mound, Texas, where they lived until they retired to Prescott, Arizona, in 2001. They then moved to Highlands Ranch, Colorado, in 2007 to be closer to Laurie, her husband, Ken, and their sons.
Bob enjoyed bowling and bowled in leagues from 1975 through 2013, earning numerous awards and trophies over the years. His greatest achievement was bowling a perfect 300 game in 2011 at the age of 72.
After he retired in 2001, he loved spending his days hiking and geocaching. He was a member of hiking groups in both Prescott, Arizona, and Highlands Ranch, Colorado, where he helped lead and organize hikes.
His favorite place to hike was the Grand Canyon. His first trip to the bottom and back up was in 2003. He did this hike every year, for a total of 13 trips, with one being a rim-to-rim hike in 2012. His last trek was in 2015 at the age of 77. He organized these hiking trips every year and enjoyed leading his friends and family members on these expeditions.
Bob passed away on June 26, 2023, in Parker, Colorado. His greatest joy in the last weeks of his life was meeting his great-grandson, Lucas Anton Wright.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Evelyn Breech. He is survived by his two daughters, Laurie Sanders and Linda Breech, his four grandsons, Steven Wright, Robby Sanders, Michael Sanders, and David Sanders, and his great-grandson, Lucas Wright.
He will be dearly missed as a father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend.
