Linda Jean Cousins, 53, of Castle Rock, passed away unexpectedly at home on Tuesday, April 3, 2018. Memorial services will be held on Monday, April 9, 2018, 11:00am – 12:00pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 950 Plum Creek Blvd, in Castle Rock, Colorado. Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, April 10, 2018, 12:00pm – 1:00pm at Green Hill Cemetery, 455 N 15th St, in Laramie, Wyoming.
She is survived by her parents, Carolyn and Stephen Tully, of Loveland Colorado; husband, Monty of Castle Rock; son, Michael, and granddaughter, Hylah of Boise, Idaho; son, Cade of Joplin, Missouri; brother, Stephen Jr of Jessup, Maryland; and all of their families.
Linda was born at Eglin AFB, near Niceville, Florida, into an Air Force family. She had multiple homes in her early years including Spangdahlem and Bitburg Germany, Laramie, Wyoming, Plattsmouth, Nebraska, and Wichita, Kansas. Linda loved learning her entire life, and was an honor student throughout her school years. She attended high school in Plattsmouth and Wichita where she played saxophone in the band and was a member of the volleyball team.
Linda continued her education at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah and completed an Associate degree at Laramie County Community College as a Licensed Practical Nurse in 1984. She worked in multiple jobs over the years including nurse, bank teller, library worker, and independent business owner. Her talents and creativity were showcased with her cake baking business in the beautiful wedding and anniversary cakes that she created.
Linda’s greatest joys in life were with her family as a wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. She married her best friend and the love of her life, Monty Dale Cousins, of Laramie, on September 8, 1984. Linda and Monty raised two sons, Michael and Cade. Linda enjoyed countless adventures in the outdoors with her family including hiking, skiing, biking, fishing, camping, and RVing. Linda and Monty welcomed new daughters into their lives with their sons’ marriages and recently became grandparents with the birth of their first granddaughter, Hylah Jane.
Linda will always be remembered by those who knew her for her honesty, kindness, selfless acts of service, love, and friendship. May God protect and keep you Linda, until we meet again.
