Lawrence (Larry) David Scott was born on December 28, 1935 to Kenneth Edmund Scott and Lyndall (Deming) Scott at the family homestead in Kiowa, Colorado. He departed this life in Falcon, Colorado at the home of his son and daughter in law, Brett & Susan Scott on January 10, 2013 at the age of 77 years.
He grew up on the family ranch northeast of Kiowa. He graduated from Kiowa Consolidated High School in 1953 where he lettered 3 years in both baseball & basketball and was the class valedictorian.
He graduated from Colorado A&M (now known as Colorado State University) in Fort Collins in 1957 with a Bachelor of Science Degree (BS) in Animal Nutrition. He was a member of the Farmhouse fraternity where he served as Scholarship Chairman.
In the fall of 1953 Larry met Evelyn (Evie) Novak at a freshman mixer. Larry & Evie started dating and they were married in Raton, New Mexico. Their marriage has lasted 56 years.
To this union was born Tracy Ann (Scott) Gleason; Brett Michael Scott; Todd Lawrence Scott; and Michelle Lynn Scott
Larry’s Career Highlights:
• Co-Founder and owner of Triple “S” Laboratories in Scottsbluff, Nebraska starting in 1957 with continuous operation for over 30 years. The Lab moved to Johnson's Corner in Loveland, Colorado in 1966. The laboratory provided analytical, research, and consultation services for agricultural animal nutrition reaching all 50 states, most provinces of Canada, and multiple foreign countries. This was Larry's life work and he was recognized as the leading animal nutritionist for multiple livestock species. His greatest satisfaction came in helping farmers and ranchers maximize production for their commodity.
• Served as a consultant in over 200 legal cases and as an expert witness in over 30 court cases in several states concerning agriculture related matters including feed storage and the resulting impact to animal performance. His clients have been successful in over 80% of those legal cases.
• Lectured extensively at various veterinary short courses, producer meetings, sales seminars, and farm groups over the last thirty years.

Civic Activities:
• Larry was politically active in the Republican Party in Colorado for his entire life. He held the roles of Precinct Chairman; County Central Committee President; Secretary; and Delegate to numerous assemblies and conventions. Larry actively supported hosts of candidates at the local, state and national level. He served on President Reagan’s Colorado Presidential Election Committee for multiple runs at the presidency starting in 1968. Larry was honored to serve on this committee.
• Larry was a 58 year member of Farm Bureau, serving on the board in both Larimer and Elbert counties. Larry was very proud to help establish the Farm Bureau Political Action Committee.
• Larry attended numerous Farm Bureau conventions, dedicating many hours in developing hundreds of Farm Bureau policy documents.
• Member of Kiowa Lions Club International No 3527.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, their spouses and a daughter:
• Kenneth Edmund Scott Jr. & his wife Virginia of Elizabeth, Colorado.
• Dr. James Allen Scott & his wife Lou of Great Falls, Montana:
• Michelle Lynn Scott of Fort Collins, Colorado who passed away in infancy.
Larry leaves to mourn his passing, his widow Evelyn (Evie) Scott.
