David was born on April 29, 1956 in Clinton, Indiana and spent his childhood years in Newport, and later in Terre Haute, Indiana, where he graduated from North Vigo High School.
David went on to work various construction jobs and was a railroad worker. He lived in Georgia and Florida, then in 1985 moved to Colorado where he met his wife, Melissa. They made Colorado their beloved home for 40 years. David settled into a career as a glass salesman, and eventually started his own glass company, Denver Glass Interiors, in 1990. He successfully grew and operated DGI for over 27 years.
After selling the company and retiring, he enjoyed extensive travels and adventures with his wife, son, and daughter-in-law. David was a great lover of outdoor activities, including snowmobiling, four wheelling, hiking, skiing, fishing, and camping. He also loved exploring the west in his RV. His love of life, adventure, and his fun, positive nature will be profoundly missed.
David is survived by his wife Melissa Uhey; son Derek Uhey; daughter-in-law Sneha Vissa; mother Peggy Uhey; and sisters Gayla Foote and Kindra Wilson.
The family would like to thank the numerous professionals at UC Health, HomeWell caregiving, along with the many supportive friends, family, community members, and pastors at Plum Creek Church.
