Charles "Chuck" L. Gallup passed on Saturday, June 16, 2018. Born March 19, 1938 in Columbus, Ohio. He was surrounded by his family when he passed. He is survived by his wife Virginia, sisters Ruth Baldwin and Margaret Dean, daughters Laura Lawrence and Katherine Keating and son Kenneth Gallup. He has three grandchildren, Bethany Smith Davis, Brianna Smith Johns and Colin Smith. He was also blessed with two great-granddaughters Camryn and Jordyn.
Chuck was an electrical engineer, graduating from Montana State University in 1961. One of his hobbies was being a shortwave or "ham" radio operator K7NKS (Nice Kind Soul). He has transmitted from Jellystone National Park (Yellowstone) and assisted firefighters during a tremendous wildfire by providing communications along with other ham operators. He loved to wander in the country. On Sunday drives we usually ended up in the middle of nowhere looking down from a majestic mountain or "enjoying" the desert heat!
He was an active member of the Castle Rock Church of Christ. He loved being a greeter, meeting all the new people who came through the door and saying hello to all the regulars. All the kids got dum-dums when they came through the door.
