Robert “Bob” Graham Friar, 89, died on October 30, 2017. The family will receive visitors from 4-6PM on Friday, November 10, 2017 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 200 Southeast Maynard Rd, Cary, NC 27511. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Transitions LifeCare.
Born in Montmorenci, SC, he was the son of the late Nita and Jesse Friar. He was a graduate of Aiken High School and Clemson College. Upon graduation, he was commissioned as an officer in the US Army. He served with distinction for 28 years, retiring in 1978 as a Lieutenant Colonel.
He is survived by his wife, Penny, children, Robert Jr., William, Allison Friar (Anderson), Vann, Michael, David and Robin Bowen (Taylor) along with their spouses, significant others and 11 beloved grandchildren as well as his brother Jack, four nieces and their spouses.
