Rhonda Norris Blanchard, 50, passed away suddenly on Saturday evening, February 21, 2015. Born on July 29, 1964 in Raleigh; she was the daughter of Ed and Mary “Mimi” Norris, of Cary and wife of Joe Blanchard, of Cary.
Rhonda graduated from Cary High School in 1982, graduated from NC State University in 2010 and was working on her Master’s Degree. She taught special needs children at Middle Creek High School and served as head coach for both men’s and women’s tennis. Rhonda began her career within the Wake County Public School System in 1992 and had also worked with the Town of Cary for 17 years. Besides tennis, she coached traveling softball and basketball with Cary Parks & Rec. Her sense of humor and love for her family and students will be greatly missed.
She is lovingly remembered by her husband of 21 years; by her parents; by her Blanchard Family: Richard and Mary Blanchard, of Raleigh; Jack and Leigh Blanchard, of High Point and their children, Alexandria and Clay; and Robert and Leah Blanchard, of Rockford, AL and their children, Georgia and Celia; by her aunts, uncles, cousins and many other family and friends; and by her faithful companions: Wrigley and Maddux.
Family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6-8 PM at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home (200 SE Maynard Road in Cary), with Funeral Services to be held on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at 3 PM at Ephesus Baptist Church (6767 Hillsborough Street in Raleigh). Burial will follow at Raleigh Memorial Park.
