Mildred “Millie” Clark Waller, 89, died Wednesday, February 27, 2019. She was born on May 30, 1929 in High Point to E.D. Cantor and Emma Kelly. She was raised in Raleigh by William B. Clark and Grace Pickler Clark.
MIllie is survived by her husband of 66 years, Charles W. Waller Jr.; sons, Billy Waller (Rachel) of Pittsboro and David Waller (Karen) of Raleigh; sister, Martha Bryant Bailey of Apex; grandchildren, Dean Graham (Alia) of Chapel Hill, Caroline Waller of Chapel Hill and Katherine Waller of Raleigh.
Millie was a registered nurse. She enjoyed working with the Cary Band Boosters as secretary, caring for the uniforms for 10 years and being the nurse for band camp. She graduated from Needham Broughton High School, attended Catawba College and graduated from the Rowan Memorial Nursing program. Millie loved camping, spending time at Kerr Lake and time with her family and especially her Siberian Huskies.
A funeral service will be held 2:00pm Sunday, March 3 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 200 SE Maynard Rd, Cary, NC 27511. Visitation will follow. A graveside service will be held 2:00pm Friday, March 8 at Rowan Memorial Park, 4125 Franklin Community Center Rd, Salisbury, NC 28144.
