She was born in Ashland Kentucky on June 17,1935 to Sam and Maxine Perrine.
She was married to Ed Massenburg for 60 years. Ellen had a career in Education. Her last role was as a library assistant and substitute teacher at Henry Adams Elementary School in Cary, NC. She was also a librarian at First Methodist Church in downtown Cary.
Mary Ellen had a passion for gardening, feeding the full bird population and reading all new books that entered Cary Public Library.
She was preceded in death by her parents Sam and Maxine Perrine and Husband Ed Massenburg.
She is survived by Son, Sam Massenburg (Paulette), daughter, Beth Marhelko (Mike),granddaughter Sara Hendrick (Aaron), grandson Daniel Marhelko and great grandson William Hendrick.
The family appreciates all of your love and support during this time. There will be a private family burial at a later date.
