Margaret Mary Spencer

Margaret Mary Spencer, 79, beloved mom, grandmother and great grandmother, died September 16, 2014. She was born in Warrington, Lancashire England on October 29, 1934. Margaret loved to knit and crochet and loved a good game of cards. She was known for her humor, love of Old English Sheepdogs, and lemon meringue pie. She loved the many phases of life and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband of 57 Years, Kenneth C. Spencer; children, Kenneth Spencer, Jr. (Jan), LeeAine Powell, and Loretta Jo Schlatzer (Karl); grandchildren, Sarah Mastera (Peyton), Melanie Folk (Nate), Jessica Schlatzer (Andrew Hubbard), Ben Powell (Megan Silvia), Holly Novak (Joseph), and Karl Schlatzer IV (Morgan Weiss); great granchildren, Parker Folk and Braeden Powell.

She was preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Celia Ruby and Bernard Robbins; her father, Andrew Ker; and son-in-law, Roger Powell.

A memorial gathering will be held on Sunday, September 21, 2014 from 5-7 pm at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 200 SE Maynard Road, Cary, NC.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Margaret can be made to the American Heart Association.
