Lillian was smart, spunky and fun-loving and will be greatly missed by her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, sisters, nieces, nephews and friends.
She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas A. Russo, father of Lucia Russo Carlucci and Donna Russo Blasi. She was also predeceased by her second husband, Leonard Messineo; and her sister, Armida Cinelli Castignani.
Lillian is survived by her daughters; her grandchildren, Donald Carlucci, Jr. and his wife Peggie, Thomas Carlucci and his wife Leslie, Noelle Blasi Vogel and her husband Kevin and Todd Blasi; her great-grandchildren, Justine, Daniel, Nicholas, Thomas, Sean and Justin Carlucci, and Haley, Natalie, Joseph, Christopher and Benjamin Vogel.
In addition to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Lillian is survived by her sisters Diana Carluccio of Union, NJ and Esther Valdini-Border of Boca Raton, FL.
Lillian enjoyed spending time with family and friends, Atlantic City trips and sitting on her front porch in Bradley Beach, NJ to watch the ocean waves and Boardwalk.
Visiting hours will be held from 4 to 7 pm Sunday, February 10 at the M. John Scanlan Funeral Home. A funeral Mass will be held 10 am Monday, February 11 at Our Lady of Good Counsel RC Church, Pompton Plains. Interment will follow at Rosedale Cemetery, Linden.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Transitions Hospice Care in Raleigh, NC or Compassionate Care Hospice in Sparta, NJ.
