He was born on August 21, 1931, in Erie, Pennsylvania, to the late Harold and Murna Taylor. He served his country for over 20 years in the US Army from the Korean War to the Vietnam War. In between he was stationed in Japan, England, Afghanistan and Lebanon. After his illustrious career in the military, he worked for 20 years at N.C. State University in the Computer Science Department and the Precision Engineering Center. His hobbies included sailing, flying remote control model airplanes, baking bread and operating a ham radio. What he enjoyed the most was spending time with his family and friends whom he loved dearly.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary Ann; his daughter, MaryMolly Taylor; and his brother, Charles of Punta Gorda, Florida.
A visitation will be on Sunday, May 6, 2018, from 4:00-6:00 PM and a memorial service will be on Monday, May 7, 2018, 11 AM, at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 200 SE Maynard Road, Cary, NC 27511.
