Even though Mr. Rourke was dad to 5 kids of his own, he seemed to have enough extra love and energy to care for other kids as well - friends his own kids dragged home. I remember the summer in the mid-80s when I shared an office with Karen as an IBM college co-op in the Regency Park office. Sometimes we would show up at his nearby Cary home for lunch.  When I did, he always made me feel welcome and not for a minute did he indicate that he thought it odd that I brought my laundry to do at his house!  In fact, I think he washed my car one time while I was eating his food for lunch!

In the many years that followed I'd see him occasionally at big Rourke family events where it was easy to see the pride he had for his whole family, his wife and children.

And I will forever see his goodness reflected in the strong, hard-working, warm and loyal woman the he raised as a daughter.  Thank you Mr.  Rourke.
