George Thomas Gann Jr.

George Thomas Gann Jr., 82, of Cary, NC passed away on New Year's Day. George was born in Montgomery, Alabama on August 28, 1929. He graduated from Sidney Lanier High School, served in the military, and graduated with a Business Degree from Auburn University. On January 19, 1957, George married Jeanette Jones, and together they raised two children, Kathy and Alan.

George is survived by his wife Jeanette; daughter Katherine Thomas; son Alan Gann; brother James Gann; sister Marion DeGrove; son-in-law Neal Thomas; and three grandchildren: Georgia, Paul, and Jack Thomas, as well as several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service and reception will be held for family and friends on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church of Cary; 117 South Academy Street; Cary, N.C. 27511.
