In celebrating Erin's remarkable life, it's clear she left an indelible mark on everyone she touched. Erin was a loving and loyal daughter, sister, niece, aunt, cousin and friend. Her laughter was like sunshine, spreading joy and leaving us doubled over with laughter induced exhaustion. And let's not forget those fresh-baked cookies that filled her home with aroma and love—a true testament to her caring nature.
As a devoted "fur mama" to Molly and Tessa, Erin's compassion extended beyond humans to embrace our furry friends in need. Her commitment to rescuing animals from shelters speaks volumes about her kind heart.
Erin passed away April 3, 2024 with her mother and brother at her side sharing her final journey. Her 52 years were filled with all the joys and sorrows that life brings. She grew up in Massachusetts, Connecticut and California becoming a perfect blend of an east-west girl. She graduated from Dana Hills High School in Dana Pointe California. Go Dolphins! Her college academics included a certification in cosmetology and several college credits toward an Associate Degree at Cuesta and Santa Barbara Community Colleges. She left the California life for an adventure to Knoxville, Tennessee. There she took a job with Travelers Insurance. Her commitment to excellence advanced her to become a Senior Customer Service Representative. She also enjoyed the joy of becoming a home owner, home decorator and hostess with the mostest to everyone.
In 2021, Erin moved to Durham, North Carolina to be closer to her family. Erin continued to spread her infectious laughter and charm as she dove into learning the ways and language of North Carolinians even if she couldn't be swayed on the whole Pepsi versus Coke debate (Pepsi originating in NC).
As we fondly remember Erin, let's cherish the countless memories she gave us, games we played, movies we shared and her boundless generosity. Though she may have left us, her spirit lives on in the hearts of all who were lucky enough to know her.
Erin is survived by her mother Barbara Eilers, her father William Eilers, her brother Chris Eilers, her sister-in-law Dani, her niece Briana, nephew Jordan and everyone who loved her.
Erin’s message to you in the words of Shel Silverstein from her favorite book The Giving Tree:
"I wish I could give you the world, but my love will have to suffice.”
Brown Wynne Funeral Home of Cary is honored to serve the Eilers family.
