Eleanor Ann Shea

Eleanor Ann Shea, 88, was a caring, loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother. She passed away November 28, 2021 in Raleigh, NC of natural causes. Eleanor was born to Francis and Nellie Ray on April 28, 1933 in Albany, NY and is survived by her three children, Anne, Richard (Tracey), and Paul, her sister, Joan Juliano, her grandchildren, Meghan, Ryan (Madeline), Kathryn, Nikita, and Laura, plus several nephews and nieces.

Eleanor graduated from Siena College in Loudonville, NY, becoming the first in her family to receive a college degree. She enjoyed reading, solving puzzles of all kinds, and playing board games with her family. She will forever be remembered for her strength, perseverance, and kindness by all who knew her. She is predeceased by her husband, James Shea, her brother, Frank Ray, her sister, Shirley Ray, and her parents.

A viewing will be held at McVeigh Funeral Home, 208 N. Allen St., Albany, NY on Sunday, December 5, 2021 from 3:00-5:00 with a funeral mass on Monday, December 6, 2021 at Blessed Sacrament in Albany at 9:00 a.m.. Eleanor will be interred at St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands, NY.
