Charles Steven Godbold

Steve graduated from Cary High School in 1970. He served 3 years in the U.S. Army and then returned home to take a job with the Town of Garner as a draftsman. He later worked for the N.C. Dept of Transportation and retired from there in 2005.

He enjoyed building wood furniture and working on cars. In his later years, he spent hours putting together model cars.

He is survived by his mother, Faye Francisco Godbold; former wife, Diane L. Godbold; his sister, Barbara Godbold Lowrance; , a niece, Amanda Lowrance; a nephew, Joshua Lowrance; two step-sons, Dave Pond (Sarah) and Steven Pond (April) and four grandchildren, Ashton, Kiley, Benjamin and Luke.

A visitation for Steve will be held Tuesday, July 5, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 200 Southeast Maynard Road, Cary, NC 27511. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, July 6, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 200 Southeast Maynard Road, Cary, NC 27511. A graveside service will occur Wednesday, July 6, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Greenlawn Cemetery, 1621 N Broad St, Fuquay-Varina, NC 27526.
