Mrs. Cagle was born on August 5, 1916 in Cherokee County, Georgia, daughter of the late John Franklin Hughes and Frances Lillian Lewis Hughes. She retired from EZ Mills/Spring City Knitting where she was employed for some 35 years. She was the longest standing member of Fields Chapel United Methodist Church at the time of her passing. She was loved by many and a friend to all.
Mrs. Cagle was preceded in death by her husband, Mack Arthur Cagle who passed away in 1959; a son, Arthur Neal Cagle, Sr. in 1969; a grandson, Arthur Neal Cagle, Jr. in 2009; a son-in-law, Robert L. Smith in 2001; 9 brothers and sisters.
Survivors include a son, John L. Cagle, Sr., and wife Phyllis of Kennesaw; 2 daughters, Diane C. Smith of Cartersville, Judy Culberson, and husband Johnny of Adairsville; 9 grandchildren, Jan Randall of Cartersville, John L. Cagle, Jr. of Hiram, Nina Strickland of Douglasville, Cindy Smith and Michael Smith both of Cartersville, Brandon Culberson of Minneapolis and Brianna Culberson of Cartersville; 17 great-grandchildren; 21 great-great grandchildren; nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday afternoon at 2:00 PM at the Fields Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Don Hardy, Rev. Joey Hatchell and Rev. Ann Cox officiating. The body will lie in-state from 1:00 until 2:00 PM on Sunday. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Saturday, February 18th from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Owen Funeral Home.
