He was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church and enjoyed serving in the Bus and Shuttle Ministries in years past. His hearing kept him from attending services in person, but he was thankful to hear and worship through the church media ministry. He and Alice were in Gary Palmer’s Lifegroup and enjoyed their fellowship and friendships, attending his last Lifegroup get-together just last Friday.
Randall began his working life selling Grit newspapers, and at 14 years of age started working at Jitney Jungle, a local grocery store, working his way to manager at the young age of 19, eventually supervising multiple stores.
Randall was an award-winning agent, sales manager and manager during his 31 years of employment with Liberty National Life Insurance Company, where he made many lifelong friends. His career with LNL took him and his family from Anniston to Cartersville to Centre, AL, Dublin and Albany, GA before transferring back to Cartersville, GA in 1991 to be closer to his first granddaughter. He continued to help his clients with their insurance long after retirement from LNL.
His love of cars led him to sales at Richard Wynn Pontiac-Buick for a few years. He delivered and transferred cars for different auto dealers up until his health declined a few months ago.
He enjoyed playing recreational softball with Tabernacle’s men’s red team in his younger years, coaching and serving as President of Bartow County Little League, and umpiring for local recreational ball.
Randall was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Ronnie Schultz; sister, Linda Schultz Persall; brother-in-law, Frank Barger and son-in-law, Don King.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Alice Adams Schultz, daughter, Pam King; sons, Greg and Brian Schultz; grandchildren, Bree King, Nicholas Schultz (Laura Guo), Ella Schultz and Bailey King; sister, Shirley Barger; brother, Bobby Schultz; and numerous nieces and nephews.
