After sixty years of marriage, Mr. Paul David "Tadpole" Wilson and Mrs. Betty Ann Black Wilson went to be with the Lord together. Mrs. Wilson, age 78, passed away on August 20, 2021. Mr. Wilson, age 79, passed away on August 22, 2021.
Mrs. Wilson was born on November 10, 1942 in White, GA, daughter of the late John Henry Black and Lottie Frances Smith Black.
Mr. Wilson was born on June 25, 1942 in Cartersville, GA, son of the late John David "Dave" Wilson and Bertha Mae Moss Wilson.
Mr. and Mrs. Wilson were both loving and cherished parents and grandparents. The light of their world was spending quality time with their grandchildren. They were true and faithful servants of the Lord and loved fellowship at their church with other members.
Mrs. Wilson was an employee at Cochran Pharmacy. After her retirement, she was a full-time "Grand Grand". She attended every cheerleading competition, baseball game, and any and every activity her grandchildren were involved in.
Mr. Wilson retired from the Cartersville City Fire Department in February of 1997, after many years of dedicated service. After retirement, he became a full-time "Pop". He loved tinkering with his hot rods and they both enjoyed attending many car shows and rod runs together.
Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by her siblings Frances Black Alexander, Bud Black, Jimmy Black, John Black and Lou Ella Black.
Mr. Wilson is preceded in death by his siblings Billy "Muley" Wilson, Betty "Marie" Wilson Howard and Randy "Big Time" Wilson.
They are both preceded by several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. and Mr. Wilson are survived by their grandson, Levi David Camp, and his fiancé Hannah O'Day, their granddaughter, Marie Ann Wilson; daughter, Paula Wilson and her fiancé Scott McDaniel and a very special fur baby, Charlibelle. Mr. Wilson is also survived by his brother, Donald "Duck" (Syble) Wilson; they are both survived by several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at one o'clock in the afternoon on Thursday, the 26th of August, 2021 in the chapel of Owen Funeral Home with George Gray and Ronnie Cowart officiating. Internment will immediately follow in Sunset Memory Gardens.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from four o'clock in the afternoon until eight on Wednesday, the 25th of August, 2021 at Owen Funeral Home.
