Mr. Bennett was born on June 4, 1930 in Bartow County, son of the late Sandy Bennett and Bell Hufstetler Bennett.
Mr. Bennett retired from Lewis Carpet after twenty-plus years of dedicated employment and then later retired from the City of Cartersville. He was an integral member of the team that developed and constructed the Allatoona Damn. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of Miller’s Chapel Church.
Everyone that knew Mr. Bennett, knew him to be at his happiest when he was telling jokes and playing pranks on people. He is already missed but will never be forgotten.
Mr. Bennett is preceded in death by his first wife, Florine Silvers Bennett; second wife, Betty Armstrong Bennett; son, Ronnie Bennett; brothers, Lloyd Bennett, Clinton Bennett and Wornie Bennett; sisters, Lois Woods, Marine Grizzle and Maxine Black.
Mr. Bennett is survived by his daughter, Paula Smith; son, Perry Bennett; step-sons, Jim (Karen) Lewis and Barry (Kelly) Lewis; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; brothers, Booty (Patsy) Bennett and James Bennett; a host of nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be conducted at eleven o’clock in the morning on Tuesday, the 13th of December, 2022 at Center Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Larry Hufstetler officiating.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from four o’clock in the afternoon until six on Monday the 12th of December, 2022 at Owen Funeral Home.
