

She is survived by her loving husband of 23 years Sammy Hines Goble, her daughters, Marty Moss Bigham and husband Jason of Tunnel Hill and Madarha Moss Harris of Cartersville, and stepson Sammy Scott Goble and wife Jenna of Chickamauga. Her beautiful grandchildren Robert Harris (Mikaila Tubbs) of Taylorsville, Katelin Bahten (Dave) of Fort Benning, and Gavin Harris of Cartersville, and step grandchildren, Becca and Jackson Goble of Chickamauga, along with her adorable great grandsons Ryder Gage Harris and Samuel Ryan Bahten. And step mother Francis Howard of Acworth.
She had cousins that she was very close to that were more like brothers and sisters, Charles Greenway (Myrtice), Sherry Sanford Takacs (John), Gail Howard Lanham, Judy Howard Hubbard, Paulette Howard Holland (Allen), Gene Howard, Liz Howard Dempsey and Charles Waits (Pat) all of Cartersville. Nieces Dede Howard Florence (Mark) of Carterville, Ann Marie Howard Vollmar (Dan) and Jonathan Wayne Howard (Brandy) of Spartanburg, SC. Great niece Sutton Howard and great nephews Jordan and Max Florence and Kyler Vollmar.
She is preceded in death by her father, William James Howard of Acworth and mother, Nadine Massey Talbert of Cartersville, twin brother Leonard William Howard of Calhoun and her son, Michael Dewayne Moss of Cartersville.
Linda was retired from the Paulding County DA’s office as an administrative assist to the assistant DA. She was a single mom since her early twenties and raised her three children on her own to which she was very proud of all three.
She was an active member of Grace Baptist Church where she was involved in many events held especially working the Café for the youth on Wednesday nights where she served them food and Sammy driving the bus. She was a volunteer at the schools where she would read to the children once a week.
She was a caregiver for 26 years to her paraplegic son Mike until his death Aug 11, 2019 and her mother Nadine for the last 5 until her death on Oct 12, 2020.
Linda was a lover of all people, places and things and truly blessed each person she crossed paths with. She was a caregiver to many and a high supporter of her family and never failed to put them first before herself. She selflessly made over 500 masks when COVID-19 locked down homes and closed businesses, donating them to essential workers and hospital staff or to anyone that may have needed them. Her arts and crafts were so small but made huge impacts.
Her hobbies included going on trips to the mountains, the beach, fishing, rafting, hunting and just spending time with her family and others. Her faith was big and she did not hesitate to tell you that God was her Savior and would offer prayer or anything to those who needed something. She loved giving of herself to the homeless and battered women’s shelter.
She was so very proud of all her grandchildren! Robert, who was the first in the family to get a full ride scholarship to college, play baseball, and finish with his Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice at Troy University. Katie, her Soldier girl, SSG Bahten serves in the US Army at Fort Benning. She is also a mom and a full-time student who has made the Presidents List twice and is graduating with high honors of an Associate’s Degree in Science and Mathematics from Columbus Technical College. Gavin, the youngest, who is an active youth member at Grace Baptist and went on multiple mission trips to include the Dominican Republic, and currently is a dual enrollment student at the College Career Academy.
She was one of the strongest, bravest, and pure souled women to walk the face of this earth and was loved by all. Her beautiful smile, loving and selfless heart with be sorely missed.
Pallbearers include Ralph Williams, Roger Black, Bobby Grimes, Shawn Greenway, Jordan and Max Florence.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:30 pm on Sunday, December 13, 2020 at Owens Funeral Home with Pastor Ralph Jenkin and Jake Fowler officiating. The Interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens with Ralph Williams, Roger Black, Bobby Grimes, Shawn Greenway, Jordan and Max Florence serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm until 1:30 pm. Due to COVID-19 mask and social distancing be requested.
