Mrs. Linda D. Caya, age 70, passed away, Sunday, February 21, 2016. Mrs. Caya was born on March 13, 1945 in Davis Creek, West Virginia, a daughter to the late Everett Ellison and Mildred Williams Ellison.
Mrs. Caya retired from Lockheed after twenty five years of dedicated service. She was of the Catholic faith and a member of St. Francis of Assisi in Cartersville, GA. Mrs. Caya loved going to the beach, when she wasn’t at the beach she enjoyed working in her garden, planting flowers, watching her birds, and a little bargain shopping. Though she found excitement in her hobbies, her greatest love and joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren. When asked about her family, her eyes would quickly fill with tears and her heart would overflow with joy because they all meant so very much to her. She was a pearl of a lady and a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother; she will be greatly missed by all.
Mrs. Caya is survived by her loving husband, Terry P Caya, the loving couple celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary on January 3rd of this year. She is also survived by her children, daughter, Kim Piper of Cartersville, GA; son, John P Caya, wife Toni of Portland, Oregon; sister, Freida Champion of Davis Creek, WV; brothers, Larry Ellison of Davis Creek, WV., Kevin Ellison, of Covington, VA, and Tommy Ellison of Davis Creek, WV.; grandchildren, Lauren Caya, Alicia Piper, Jessica Piper, and Levi Piper; and one great-grandchild Inara Layton.
Mrs. Caya is preceded in death by a brother, Ricky Ellison and two sisters, Joyce Barranco and Jane Means.
A Funeral Mass will be held at nine-thirty in the morning on Thursday, February 25, 2016 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, with Father Juan Anzora officiating. Interment will follow at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA.
Serving as pallbearers are Kevin Ellison, Larry Ellison, Joe Demarco, Miles Tanner, Ricky Piper, and Dan Hanson.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 24, 2016 from four o’clock in the afternoon until seven at Owen Funeral Home.
