Left to cherish his memory are his children, Brittany Lenay Mathis and Nicholas Edward (Amanda) Mathis; one granddaughter, Kinley Hope Mathis; grandson, Mojave Wayne Blankenship; two brothers, Douglas (Shirley) Mathis, Randall (Belinda) Mathis; one sister, Julie Mathis; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Jeff was a graduate of Etowah High School in Woodstock, GA. He served in the United States Air Force as a radar technician right after graduation. After 6 years of service to our country, Jeff started his own business as a paint contractor.
Jeff enjoyed fishing, camping, collecting sports memorabilia, and spending time outdoors. He also enjoyed spending time with his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at two o’clock in the afternoon on Saturday, the 11th of January, 2020 in the Chapel of Owen Funeral Home.
