Janet Gaines

Mrs. Janet S. Gaines, 59 of Euharlee, GA passed away peacefully Sunday January 27, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. Janet is the daughter of the late Mr. Frank Schmidt and Ms. Lily Summerville. She was born June 12, 1959 in Elk Grove, IL.

Janet never met a stranger. She was a loving friend to all those who knew and loved her. Janet was a loving wife for 38 years to Bobby, and a wonderful mother to her two sons Jonathan and Andrew, but she also want to be a mom for everyone she met. Janet was a Navy Veteran who served from 1980 to 1982. Over the years after her service she was a stay at home mom, she felt that it was the most important job she had. During many of those years it was while she was a Navy Spouse and during that period she also volunteer her to time to the Navy/Marine Corps Relief Society. She was also an Ombudsman/Key wife for several duty station that her husband was assigned too. She also worked at several different companies. She did spend her last 10 years with Big Lots before she was diagnosed with Cancer.

She is preceded in death by her father.

She is survived by her husband, sons; Jonathon M. and Andrew Gaines.

A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted in the Owen Funeral Home Chapel Friday, February 22, 2019 at five o'clock in the evening.

The family will receive friends at Owen Funeral Home Friday, February 22, 2019 from three o'clock in the afternoon until the service hour.
