Doris was born on October 29, 1941 in Cartersville, GA, daughter of the late Henry Wright and Myra Wilbanks Wright.
Doris was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Doris and her husband, C.L. Tidwell started Tidwell Plumbing in 1959 and it is still a thriving business today. At the Tidwell cabin, every 4th of July, they hosted a cookout for the entire community. Doris loved to cook for everyone and her table was always open. Her home was always filled with laughter when she was spending time with her family and friends. She was an avid animal lover and took in every stray that came into the yard, including C.L.
Doris is preceded in death by her brother, Milburn Wright.
Survivors include her loving husband of 57 years, C.L. Tidwell; daughter, Carla (Randy) Knight; son, Michael (Justine) Tidwell; grandchildren, Jackie "Jacob" Knight, Katie (Chase) Jones and Ross Tidwell; special sister-in-law, Joan Moore.
A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at two o'clock in the afternoon on Thursday, the 21st of June, 2018 at Cartersville First Baptist Church, 241 Douthit Ferry Rd., Cartersville, GA 30120, with Rev. Paul Battles and Rev. Doug Harris officiating. Interment will immediately follow in Sunset Memory Gardens.
Serving as pallbearers are Doug Cornwell, B.R. Roberts, Brandon Lockwood, Joseph Moore, Rick Ross and Jeremy Matthews.
Honorary pallbearers are Blake Lockwood, Justin Moore, Jeff Mauldin, Tony Ross, Donald Collum, Ray Lee, Bobby Wade and Buzz Ballard.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from five o'clock in the evening until nine on Wednesday, the 20th of June, 2018 at Cartersville First Baptist Church.
In lieu of customary remembrances, memorial donations may be made in Doris' honor to Cartersville First Baptist Church Building Fund or Back-Pack Buddies.
