Christopher Eric Smithey

Eric was born on October 23,1973 in Dalton, Ga, son of John E. Smithey and Marsha

Thomas. Eric was employed for South Eastern Data Co-Op.

He was a member of the Brandon’s Chapel Baptist church in Stilesboro, Georgia and

will be truly missed by his Church Family and Friend’s. Eric loved spending time with

his family and friends, riding Horses, making music, collecting Antiques, and conducting

his Opera company. He was a graduate of Gilmer High School and Kennesaw State University

with a Bachelor’s Degree.

He was very active with the City of Euharlee, and was on the Planning and Zoning committee.

Eric is preceded in death by Grand Dad George Smithey and Grand Mother Betty Smithey; Great Aunts

Ruth Springfield and Shirley Lyles. Two Great Uncles Joseph and Wilburn Thomas.

Survivors include his loving wife Kimberly Rosquist Smithey; son Joseph Smithey; Father John E. Smithey and fiancé Donna McArthur: Mother Marsha Thomas brother’s Blake ( Ashley) Smithey and Caylor Hackney; Mother in Law Penny (Evan) Rosquist; two great uncles Sammy Springfield and Marvin Knight; three great aunts Geneva Knight ,Barbara Rester, and Evelyn Roberts. Also several extended Families survives.

A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 2:00pm in the afternoon on Tuesday, February 02,2021 in the Owen Chapel with Dr. Scott Shepard officiating. Burial will follow in the

Euharlee Presbyterian Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Owen Funeral Home.

Pallbearers include; Steve Cernek, Conner Rosquist, Chase Springfield, Ellis Knight, Chris Carter, Steve Worthington, Craig Guyton and Randy Pickett. Honorary Pallbearer is Casey Pickett.
