Mr. Floyd was born June 2, 1945 in Bartow County, a son of the late Russell Thomas Floyd and Corene Fowler Floyd.
He was of the Baptist faith, a United States Navy veteran, serving in the Seabees from 1968 to 1972 and was a retired right of way agent for the Ga. Department of Transportation. Charles was a 1966 graduate of Cartersville High School and was past president of the football Booster Club. He enjoyed golf, antique cars and Ga. Tech Football.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Faye Shepherd Floyd, his daughter, Kim Floyd Lindsey, of Cartersville, his grandson, Dixon Russell Lindsey, sister and brother in law, Patricia and Billy Davidson, of Canton, brother and sister in law, Michael and Maria Floyd, of Cartersville, a brother, Jerry Floyd, of Cartersville, brother in laws and sister in laws, Lavada and Ruth Johnson, Mike and Kathy Bramlett and Jean Johnson Shepherd, father in law, Benny Shepherd, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Marvin Floyd.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Monday, February 15, 2010 from the Chapel of the Owen Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Harris, Rev. Adam Toole and Shane Bramlett officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Hill cemetery, with military rites observed.
Pallbearers will be Roger, Andy and Dusty Davidson, Wesley Knight, Bobby Adams, John Martin, Joe Frank Head and Wesley Johnson. Honorary pallbearers will be Phil Brandon, Ralph McCreary, Ronny Greene, Ricky Brooks, Larry Summey, Billy Puckett, Barney Gilreath and Wallace Sanford.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00 till 8:00 P.M. Sunday.
