Charles Hugh Darnell

Charles graduated from Cass high school in 1945. He married Sadie Collins in 1954 and remained a devoted husband for the next 67 years. Charles enjoyed his large garden, traveling across the country and spending time with his grandchildren. He greeted everyone with a big smile.

Charles was a veteran of the United States Navy, the United States Air Force and was a member of the American Legion. He retired from First Brands with over 30 years of service. Charles was an active member of Faith Methodist Church since 1976.

Charles is preceded in death by his daughter, Sandra Darnell, sister, Christine Smith; brothers, Virgil Darnell, Steve Darnell and William Darnell. He is survived by his wife, Sadie Darnell; son, Kenny (Susette) Darnell; grandchildren, Will Darnell and Jake Darnell. Several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 11:00 am on Friday, August 19, 2022 in the chapel of Owen Funeral Home with Rev. Scott Brown officiating. The interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 18, 2022 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm and Friday, August 19, 2022 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am.at Owen Funeral Home.
