Karon Lee Branch Martin passed away peacefully on July 9, 2024 in Carson City, Nevada. The gates of heaven opened wide to receive her in God’s open arms. She was a fifteen year resident of Dayton, Nevada.
Karon was born in Salem, Oregon on January 25 in 1950 to parents O.E. and Beverly Branch. She is proceeded in death by her older sister, Linda, and a younger brother, Rick. She lived her younger life in Turner, OR where she graduated from Cascade Union High School in 1968.
Karon married Vic Martin on February 19, 1969 in Hawaii where he was stationed at the Marine Corps Base Kaneohe after returning from Vietnam and gave him over 55 years of extraordinary wedded happiness. She bore him three sons; Michael of Stagecoach, NV, Matthew of Dayton, NV and Craig of Lebanon, OR; grandsons Nathaniel of Stagecoach, NV, Gage and Brody of WA; expected granddaughter Zella Lynn Martin of Lebanon, OR. Other survivors include daughters-in-law's Laura and Carlie; nieces Jean, Tammy and Jaime of Salem, OR; Nephew Brian of Salem, OR and many, many friends in Nevada and Oregon.
Karon was the steadfast pillar of her family, the calming guide during troublesome waters, a great listener with sound advice when asked. She was the definition of love, compassion and forgiveness. Her hobbies included being an expert long rifle and pistol marksman and she was an avid seamstress.
A celebration of life will be held in September in Salem, OR. Karon loved children and small animals; in lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to St. Jude Children Hospital or to a local animal rescue shelter.
