Preceded in Death by parents Rose Ellen and John Bowler, Carson City NV, and sister Patricia Fesko, Monroe, NC.
Francis Louis Bowler was born in Southern California on April 17, 1948. He lived there for 4 years, and in 1952, he and his sister left with their mother to join their dad in Saudi Arabia as part of the “ARAMCO” family. He was only 4 when this adventure started!
Frank was the oldest of 6 children and lived in Saudi Arabia until he left for Villanova Preparatory School, Ojai, California when he was 14 years old. He would return home every summer and in 1966, he graduated, started college at Loyola University but shortly after starting college, he joined the United States Navy and served in Viet Nam. After being discharged from the Navy, he spent much of his young life working in the Los Angeles Area and New Mexico. He retired in Reno and married Luz Marie Bowler 13 years ago. Luz and Frank were inseparable and as Frank’s health began to fail, Luz spent most of her time caring for Frank until his death on September 15, 2023 at their home.
Frank had a big heart and loved sports, especially his Dodgers! He would take his younger siblings to Dodger games when they would be in Los Angeles. He shared his sports enthusiasm and knowledge with all of us and it was second to none.
Family was very important to him and after our mother passed away, he took up the job of calling all of us every Sunday to check on us and see how we were. We will miss those calls.
Frank is survived by his wife Luz Bowler of Reno NV, who was the love of his life and caregiver.
