Shirley Ann Whitton

Shirley McDonald Whitton was born November 29, 1935 in Edgewood, Tx to Roy and Kate McDonald she passed away March 19, 2022 after a brief illness and a journey of memory loss. She grew up in Edgewood and graduated from Edgewood High School. She married her one true love Jesse Whitton December 12, 1953.

Shirley was a quiet shy person, that would do whatever she could for other people. She worked at Valwood Elementary for many years. She enjoyed sewing and doing embroidery. She also enjoyed going to estate sales, collecting glassware, cat cookie jars and cat figurines as seen ALL over her home. Her greatest joy was taking care of her husband and boys, making sure they always had their favorite foods.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents Roy and Kate McDonald. Her beloved husband Jesse, sons Roger and David Whitton and great grand angel Ava Claire Crawford.

She is survived by her son Tim Whitton and wife Debbie, daughter Debbie Crawford and husband Ted, 10 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren.

A visitation for Shirley will be held Friday, March 25, 2022 at 10:00 am. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 am, at Flower Mound Church of Christ, 1117 W. College Pkwy, Flower Mound, TX 75028. Burial will occur Friday, March 25, 2022, at 2:00 pm, at Hilltop Memorial Park, 1810 N PERRY RD, CARROLLTON, TX 75006.

In lieu of flowers treat someone to a meal out in her honor. That was the one thing she and her mister really enjoyed doing together and missed as they ended their walk together.
