Ray Denison passed away early Monday, December 24, 2012 from a short battle with liver cancer. Ray was a long time resident of Carrolton. He was born December 1, 1929 to Glenn and Docia Denison of Lorenza, Texas.
Ray was preceded in death by his wife Sarah, brother Gene Denison, sisters Irene Reeves and Zelma Hackney, and grandson Bryan Denison. He is survived by his daughter Kathryn Jourdan and husband Tom, son Larry Denison and wife Sheila, and son Philip Denison and wife Mercedes Coronado. He is also survived by grandchildren Kristina, Kevin, Kyle, Colin and Lauren and six great-grandchildren, as well as two sisters, Tommy Fisher and Norma Putman, many nieces and nephews and a great deal of friends.
Ray served for two years in the U.S. Navy and was active in Boy Scouts for a number of years where he was awarded the Silver Beaver Award. Later in life he was a dedicated bus driver for both the Carrolton/FB ISD and the Lake Dallas ISD.
Visitation will be Thursday, 7-8:30 pm at Rhoton Funeral Home, the funeral will be at the same location Friday, 12:30 pm. Burial will be Monday, 12:30 pm at the DFW National Cemetery with Military Honors.
