Oran was born in Dallas, Tx on September 3, 1932. He participated in the ROTC program at Crozier Tech High School in Dallas, Tx and was later drafted into the Army where he served for 2 years. He was in Korea most of his time spent in the Army.
Oran married Ruby Moore on February 28, 1952 in Dallas, Tx. He is survived by his wife Ruby of 66 years, daughter Darla of Lewisville, Tx. Son Kenneth and wife Barbara of Hickory Creek, Tx; and grandsons Nicholas and wife Katha of Ponder, Tx and Trace and wife Vanessa of Lewisville, Tx.
He is also survived by his brothers, Billy Wewe, Joe Wewe, Homer Hamilton, and Merle Wewe. Sisters; Iva Wewe and Louise Morgan. Along with numerous nieces and nephews that loved him so much. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Gertrude Wewe and his older brother Morris Wewe and infant sister JoAnn Wewe.
When Oran returned from Korea, he worked in the banking industry in the Dallas and Lewisville area. He later was a salesman of wholefoods in the meat and specialty cheese area.
Oran ended his working career at Southwest Airlines serving with LUV working in the mailroom and the back dock. He enjoyed all the time he was able to spend his days with his Southwest family and made many friends while working and being able to help with any tasks needed. He had a passion for Southwest and served with a peaceful and kind attitude. He especially enjoyed working with Anne Hancock working and helping with the LUV classic golf tournaments.
Oran was a member of the Lewisville Masonic Lodge, the Veterans of Foreign War, he was a member of the Scottish Rite and also a 32nd degree Shriner.
Oran had a strong faith and serviced under Rev. W.F. Starne as a Sunday School Superintendent for many years. He also served in other churches in his lifetime. He had a strong love for God!
Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, May 2 from 6-8 p.m. at Rhoton Funeral Home 1511 S. I-35e in Carrollton, Texas.
A funeral service is scheduled for Thursday, May 3, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Rhoton Funeral Home in Carrollton, Texas.
Interment will be at Laurel Land Cemetery 6000 South R. L. Thornton Freeway in Dallas, Texas 75232 with Rev. Dewayne Starnes and Rev. W.F. Starnes will be officiating the services for Oran.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth Wewe, Nicholas Wewe, Merle Wewe, Trace Cooper, M.L. White and Daryl Paulson.
He will also be missed by all that knew him. I want to provide a special thanks to his care provider Martin Solyd and the members of the Lifeway Hospice which was there for him the last 4 weeks f his life.
