Floyd Cantlon Jr. passed away peacefully August 13th, 2016. He was born in De Queen, AR on March 21st, 1932 to Floyd and Mildred Cantlon. After his high school graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force during the Korean war. Floyd attended Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia studying Engineering. He began his career in Dallas as a design engineer at Chance Vought. He worked the majority of his career as a VP of sales in corporate staffing. Floyd raised his family in Garland, TX and stayed in the Dallas area. After he retired he moved to his little ranch in Celina. He enjoyed getting together with his neighbors, watching the sunset on his back porch, hitting the occasional garage sale and playing golf. He was a huge sports fan and rarely missed watching the Mavericks, Rangers and Cowboys. Floyd also loved the outdoors and passed that love on to both of his kids. He was preceded in death by his long time companion, Judith Dickie. He leaves behind his daughter, Cara and husband Gary and his son Kurt, and wife Shelli. He was forever grateful for the care he received at the VA hospital in Dallas. His family is forever grateful for the loving care he received at Vitas Healthcare in Carrollton.
