Charlotte Greene, beloved mother and grandmother, died peacefully Wednesday, March 18, 2015. She bravely battled recent health conditions but is now at rest. She was devoted to her family and enjoyed having all her girls and their families all together more than anything else. She was always ready for a party and enjoyed dressing up for any occasion, even going to the grocery store.
She was born in Corpus Christi on November 6, 1936 and moved to Dallas to finish high school and work at the Times Herald. She graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1954.
Her friends enjoyed her wit and storytelling. “If I was in a bad mood she could always make me laugh. I looked forward to her visits and would call her a true character.” Thanks to all the friends who sent their love and prayers during the battle to recover. It always made her smile.
She stepped in to take care of her niece for a year and took loving care of our two grandmothers until their passing.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lt. Col Taylor Greene and survived by her daughters, Elizabeth, Deborah, April and Charlene. Her grandchildren, Erin Finlayson, Ben Finlayson, Justin Thurman and Russell Thurman. Her son in laws, Gary Thurman, Craig Finlayson and Greg Stephens.
Her nieces Jeanette, Sally, Lisa and her 91 year old cousin Mary Jane.
Family friends, Brad, Chris, Pat and Carrie.
She will be laid to rest with Dad at the National Cemetery on Monday, the 23rd. In lieu of flowers, we would be honored to have donations sent to the Wounded Warriors.
