Charles was born in Slaton, Texas on September 30, 1938 to Charles Rainwater Sr. and Annie Rainwater.
Charles was a born entrepreneur and proudly graduated from Booker T. Washington High School. He married his wife, Louise Chancellor Rainwater, on August 2, 1961. The two went on to have five daughters; Beverly, LaNita, Alicia, Crystal, and Sherryl.
Charles Rainwater spent his career working as a freight carrier and truck driver for Yellow Freight. He was a dedicated steward of Emeritus of New Jerusalem A.M.E Church and the 10th District President of the Lay Organization between 2004-2008. He loved God, family, serving the community, going fishing, and gardening.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Sherryl Rainwater; sister, Betty Rainwater; brother, Melvin Massingill.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Louise Rainwater of Carrollton, Texas; daughter, Beverly Sosa and husband, Juan of Carrollton, Texas; daughter, LaNita Rainwater of Denton, Texas; daughter, Alicia Rainwater of Carrollton, Texas; daughter, Crystal Roberson and husband, Kevin T. of Little Elm, Texas; grandchildren, Ashley, Brandon, and Stacee Young, Keyshon and Rodney Rainwater, and Kevin and Christian Roberson; brothers, R.C. and Will Rainwater; and sister, Nancy Williams.
A wake for Charles will be held Thursday, January 5, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Rhoton Funeral Home, 1511 South I-35E, Carrollton, Texas 75006. A funeral service will occur Saturday, January 7, 2023 at 11:00 AM, 1511 South I-35E, Carrollton, Texas 75006. A committal service will occur Saturday, January 7, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Lincoln Memorial Cemetery, 1311 Murdock Rd., Dallas, Tx 75217. A reception will occur Saturday, January 7, 2023 following the committal at Crosby Recreation Center, 1610 E. Crosby Rd. Carrollton Tx, 75006
