Carmen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, and is survived by her children Sandy, Tom & wife Connie, John & wife Linda, and Gina & husband Rick (Burges), grandchildren Alan Crynes, Aaron Crynes, Ashley and husband Cody (McPherson) and Kristen and husband Collin (Gatz). In addition, her great-grandchildren, Brody Crynes Presley Crynes, Camden McPherson, Leo Gatz, and Jace McPherson. Lastly, her many nephews, nieces, cousins, and godchildren that she loved so dearly.
Carmen was born on September 2, 1923, in Legazpi, Philippines. Besides time spent in Legazpi she also lived in Sta. Mesa and raising her family in Pampanga at Clark AFB. In 1974, she moved to Carrollton, Texas and became a “Texan” at heart. Carmen is preceded in death, by her husband Harold (aka Tommy) who passed on the same date 47 years ago, her parents Ramon and Matilde Lopez Pozas and her siblings, Tony, Rosa, and Pepe.
Carmen was the queen of hospitality. She loved being in the kitchen. Her empanadas, lumpia and perfect pecan tassies will be missed by all. When not cooking she enjoyed playing mahjong in the Philippines, and bridge in Texas.
A rosary and mass celebrating her life well lived will be held on Friday, November 18th at 10:30 am (rosary) and 11:00 am (mass) at Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, 2800 Valwood Parkway, Dallas, Texas 75234. Interment will occur immediately following the mass.
