Born July 20, 1956 in Denver, Colorado and growing up in Dallas, Texas, he was a curious boy and loving son. A child of varied interests he played football, acted in drama class, and was a multi-instrumentalist in the marching band.
After graduating from Thomas Jefferson High School, he went to work for 20 years at his parent's printing company, Bonnie Business Forms. During that time, Bruce became a husband and father to two boys that he loved and were the center of his world, Derek and Kane. After Bonnie was sold Bruce continued in the industry for 22 more years before retiring.
Bruce enjoyed spending time with his family, horseback riding, and roundups at the ranch. An avid Cowboys fan, he was able to attend many games as a season ticket holder and even saw them win Super Bowl XII in person.
Bruce had a passion for the environment and his favorite hobby was fishkeeping. A creative and independent thinker, Bruce was a passionate reader, especially of history, biographies, thrillers, and science fiction.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Bonnie Jean Gardner; and survived by his father, Larry Gene Gardner; sons Derek Gardner (Karry) and Kane Gardner; sister, Carissa Gardner-Bramlett; brothers, Dennis Brown (Marie) and Daniel G. Brown (Regina); and numerous other nieces, nephews, aunt, uncles, and cousins.
Bruce, son, father, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. You are loved and will be dearly missed.
