Bobby Carroll Hilliard was born in the East Texas town of Woodlake, Texas, on December 24, 1934. At the age of eight years he moved with his family to Scottsdale, Arizona. Bob was one of eight children of Henry Bruce Hilliard and Lee Ella Barnhart. He graduated from Scottsdale High School in 1953, and was president of his class. After attending the University of Arizona, he enlisted in the US Air Force. Serving twenty years, he attained the rank of Senior Master Sergeant. He served in Korea, Okinawa, Japan, Hawaii, and various locations throughout the United States as a radar technician and communications specialist.
Upon retirement from military service, he worked in the communications industry, and retired from Motorola Corporation in 1996. He owned BH Consulting, a project management company specializing in communications infrastructure.
Bob has a daughter, Genelle Farrell of Chandler, AZ; and sons, Bruce Hilliard of Mesa, AZ; Paul Hilliard of Keller, TX; and Orland Hilliard of Corinth, TX. Grandchildren are Matthew Hilliard of Corinth, TX; Dillon Hilliard of Mesa, AZ; Rachel and Ben Wacker of Chandler, AZ.
His living siblings are brother, Robert Hilliard of Overgaard, AZ; and sister, Nelda Pickens, of Mesa, AZ.
He was married to Nancy Eldridge in 1993, and lives in Flower Mound, TX. He enjoys fishing, gardening, and traveling.
