Theresa Ann Harris

It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Theresa Ann (Kreczko) Harris, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Theresa was born on May 9, 1935, in Springfield, Massachusetts, to Stanley and Alexandra Kreczko. She spent her early years in Springfield, where she attended a catholic high school, achieving perfect attendance and never missing a single day in her 12 years.

Theresa’s dedication and commitment extended beyond her school years into her professional life. She worked diligently at Mercy Hospital and as a supervisor of the Medical Records Department at South Macomb Hospital, where her presence and hard work were deeply valued. Later she embraced the roll of mom and homemaker. She will always be remembered for her hospitality, tidiness and her beautiful ice blue eyes!

Theresa moved to Michigan after marrying her husband, Donald Cooper Harris. They met on a blind date and built a beautiful life together. Their marriage spanned an incredible 70 years, a testament to their enduring love and partnership. For over 40 years they called Carmel, IN home. Together, they raised three sons: Stephen (Jackie) Harris, Douglas (Carol) Harris, and Donald Jr. (Bev), and a daughter, Sharon (Jon) Jarrett. Theresa’s family was her pride and joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them. She made motherhood look easy!

Theresa’s legacy lives on through her grandchildren: Christopher (Rhonda), Nicole (Brandon), Danielle, Lauren (Phil), Brad (Kristie), Colin (Grace), Tyler (Bri), Ethan (Rachel), Carter, Gabriel, Asher, and Ansley. Each of them, along with her 16 great grandchildren, carries a piece of her spirit and the values she instilled in them. She is predeceased (2011) by her spunky younger sister Irene.

Theresa’s life was marked by her unwavering dedication, love, and kindness. She touched the lives of many and will be remembered for her warm heart and generous spirit. As we say our final goodbyes, let us celebrate the remarkable life she lived and the lasting impact she had on all who knew her.

Rest in peace, Theresa Ann (Kreczko) Harris. You will be deeply missed and forever cherished.

A visitation for Theresa will be held Friday, October 25, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Leppert Mortuary – Carmel, 900 N. Rangeline Rd., Carmel, Indiana 46032, followed by a funeral service at 5:00 PM.
